Safe to Update Sims 3?

I have Sims 3 installed, with all expansions and such, and today when I went to run it (after like two weeks of being gone), it said that it had an update available.
I was just wondering if it is Safe to update my Sims 3 (update: Sims3_1.24.3.012017_from_1.22.9.011017), or If i needed to do other stuff to update it.

Hello,
In order to safely update the game to the latest version, just install Generations and then apply this Fix: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t752-the-sims-3-ultimate-fix-should-fix-most-of-your-problems
