The Sims 3 something like a warning?
Hi, I have all The Sims 3 expansion and stuff packs downloaded from G4TW, I downloaded the last one Into the future but haven't played because of uni duties, so when I finally had some extra time I wanted to play. When I started the game I got some message like a warning that goes like this:
The Sims 3
It looks like you have installed an unofficial game modification that does not match your current version of The Sims 3. We recommend that you either uninstall these game modifications or get updated versions of them - otherwise you may experience crashes or significant bugs.
Do you want to quit?
And then I had an option to Quit or Continue, naturally I clicked continue, and after a few hours of playing my game crashed ...
What can I do to fix this problem?

Re: The Sims 3 something like a warning?
I forgot to mention, I don't have any MOD's, CC's or anything that did not came with the installation, so the version is probably the one from Into the future, because I don't update it ... Oh yeah and I never used any The Sims 3 fixes, because this is the first time something like this popped up. So what do I do?

Re: The Sims 3 something like a warning?
The reason why you get this error is that you haven't updated after installing The Sims 3 Into the Future, and the Ultimate Fix is compatible with the latest updated game version only.
To avoid this error, please download and run the manual patch: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1870-can-t-update-the-sims-3-to-v166-fix-manual-patch. After that, re-apply the Ultimate Fix again.
Good luck and let us know if you need any further assistance!

Admin will have the same answer as me. You do not update to the latest version with the manual patch and the Ultimate Fix is not for every single version of The Sims 3. That is the only reason why you have this error. If you refuse to follow the solution I provided, you can seek help from other communities.

Nope... :Pseems like a lot of people have this error...
What's the difference when you run the game normally and if you run it as an Administrator?

Hello,
This means either your game is not up to version 1.67, or you don't have the latest Ultimate Fix applied.
Please make sure you made both.
Oh, and by the way, this does not prevent you from playing. By clicking Continue, you can still play normally!

Re: The Sims 3 something like a warning?
Yes, if i click Continue i can play normally, 30 minutes normally until it crashes... I don't have Origin installed, don't update and never used fixes, mods and ccs etc, but the game was working... Tried DEP, run it as Admin, tricking the game so far nothing, but i don't quit that easy, and i will try a few more things. If The Sims 3 has so many problems, bugs and crashes, well i don't know what to expect from The Sims 4?! If all fails i will update and use a fix ...

Hello,
If you don't use any mods, then the only explanation left is that your base game version and Ultimate fix version don't "match".
In case of doubt, re-do the steps from #2 to #4 here: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
Also, when you are at step #4 and you paste the new #crack files (from The Ultimate fix) into the base game location, make sure that you actually overwrite all of the existing files - so you choose "copy and replace" for all files, when you are prompted. This will basically delete the existing (old) files - and put in the new files.
Good luck !
P.S. Generally, I don't recommend clicking on "continue" if you get that error when starting the game. Instead make sure that you update all mods (if applicable), clear the caches, and use the latest manual patch + Ultimate fix.

Re: The Sims 3 something like a warning?
This may be a silly question but i will ask anyway Do you launch your game through The Sims 3 base game icon, or the last one you've installed? In my case Into the future, and does it make any difference?

If you applied the Ultimate fix (which I recommend), then go to your base game location. Usually that's C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin.
There, make a shortcut to the desktop from the TS3W.exe file - and use that shortcut then to start the game.
