Is there a strict order of instillation of expansions?

I am sorry if this has been asked, or if it is a dumb question. When I check out some of the instillation guides it asks that I install them in certain orders. I would normally do this but I have not downloaded them in order is the problem. I have read your rules for downloading the Sims 3 and I refer to it often. I am just doing what I can to prevent any future mistakes. I have many expansions downloaded but it requires the HEL installed before installing Ambitions. Yet again I apologize for any redundancy or if I am failing to follow directions correctly, or sense for that matter XD. I understand the latest cracks have to be the latest expansions, I am just curious if I have to install them in an official order to make things run smoothly.

Any help or guidance is much appreciated.

Hello Cramerica,

It's depend on The Sims 3 update, if you ask us about this one weeks before. I'll say "The Generation Expansion is compulsory, you need to install generation expansion in order to get the game worked" But if you ask today, I'll say "You need to install, Town Life Stuff, in order to get the worked"
