sims 3 game messed up(planning to reinstall)

it all started when i want to install custom built houses from modthesims.info,when i tried to install it,it says please update my sims 3 to the latest version.therefore i just downloaded the ultimate fix to update my base game(ver 1.50.xxxx).i followed the instructions there,but the update completed within few minutes and the version is still 1.50.xxxx and i still applied the crack.i was able to load the game but in the game,the menus,text,etc are all gone,so i installed the seasons expansion i just downloaded hoping to fix the problem(my game has pet,university expansion installed before this).when the installation completes i was able to start the game but noticed the university expansion is missing and i can't load my saved-game,it came out with sims3.exe stopped working error.i started a new game,and once i load my sims,the sims3.exe error came out again.i was thinking to reinstall the whole game but i would have to download it all over again =.=

Hello,

I assume you're on Windows OS ? In that case, please try again re-doing the steps from #2 to #4 here (do these steps exactly as described):

Try installing the houses again after that. If you still get problems, try the following solution: have a look at this topic here and download the tool in Lady ElDi's opening post:

Instructions are included in that tool. After you have "decrapified" the .sims3pack(s), please delete the compositiorCache.package file (in My Documents/Electronic Arts). After that, re-install that "decrapified" file(s) with the launcher.

tried installing the 1.67 patch manually,the setup gave me "no version of sims 3 detected" error

Where did you get the base game from ?

i did a reinstall and got everything working now but i still have few questions left.
do all the expansions that i install combine into one single game when i play the game?
do the expansions need to be installed from oldest version to the latest?if i have Seasons now,can i install pets directly?

Sorry for the late reply, but yes, all the games/expansions "combine" into one game. And it doesn't matter in which order you install expansions.

Just make sure that after installing all expansions you want, re-do the steps rom #2 to #4 here:
