Sims 3: Version compatibility?

Hi there! I'm having trouble with a couple of Sims 3 downloads. I'm beginning to wonder if the problem is stemming from the fact that I purchased my base copy of The Sims 3 rather than download the version offered by you guys. I'm trying to install both expansions, High End Loft and World Adventures. I'm getting the Invalid File error when trying to install the game update patches that came with World Adventures, as part of "Crack 3". I tried doing the fix that is offered from the Fixes forum on this site, and now it's telling me my game is up-to-date, however it's also telling me "Your The Sims 3 Base Game is incompatible with the current Sims 3 Expansion Pack. Please update your game via the game launcher."

So is this a problem with my base game being the official licensed paid for copy vs the downloaded one, or is there another issue here that could be easily fixed?

You cán use a retail version of The Sims 3, but if you do so, you'll have to skip the part where you have to apply the updates from the '# Crack 3" folder. (World Adventures)

For High End Loft Stuff I recommend you don't install it, so you don't get any problems. Also HELS doesn't have anything special to offer; just a few furnitures. WA is a lot better.

Alright thanks HELS is the one I actually wanted, I like stuff for my sims. I'll skip it though and just stick to free resources I guess. Thanks though!
