Sims 3 has stopped working. [SOLVED]
:newfag:
Hi there, I'm new to this forum but have spent HOURS on it trying to fix problem after problem with TS3. My current problem is whenever I go into Create-A-Household when I'm starting a new game I get to the formal section and it crashes. I have the latest patch and have applied the Ultimate Fix twice (Someone said it worked for them). I have Pets, Island Paradise, Into the Future, World Adventures, Late Night, Outdoor Living, Town Life Stuff, University Life, Generations and Movie Stuff. I also have Supernatural and Seasons which I haven't installed but all the games were downloaded from Games4theworld. My laptop is running Windows 8 64 Bit and does reach the minimum requirements and I will post them if needed. I have tried using Game Booster and adding all the .exe files to DEP. I've used the crash log analyzer and it says Insuffiet Memory Installed but I have 8Gb of Ram. Please please help me!!!

Hello,
Now, have a look at this other topic here and do all steps (except the DEP): https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t857-the-sims-3-crashes-freezes-to-desktop-fix-updated-on-7-01-2014
If your Windows is a 64-bit version AND if your computer has 4 GB of RAM or more, then focus on step #3 in particular. Download the "4 GB patch" from here. After downloading, double-click on that 4 GB patch and in the next prompt, choose the TS3W.exe in your base game location. Usually, that's C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin. Wait for the message "executable successfully patched" and close the 4 GB patch.
Note that this method will not work if your Windows is a 32-bit version and/or if your computer has fewer than 4 GB of RAM. After doing that, go on with the rest of the steps. These instructions should be pretty self-explanatory.
Now go to My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 and delete all contents inside the Currentgame.sims3 folder. Also, in My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3, delete the following stuff:
-CASPartCache.package
-compositorCache.package
-scriptCache.package
-simCompositorCache.package
-socialCache.package
-plus the contents of the folders "WorldCaches" & "Thumbnails"
Re-start the game then and see if anything improved. You may even turn off your anti-virus program completely before playing The Sims 3.
Good luck !

Re: Sims 3 has stopped working. [SOLVED]
@Carlos
Thanks so much for replying so quickly but sadly it still crashed after I tried all of those steps as well as the 4 GB patch and deleting all the files you said, by the way I didn't have a "WorldCaches" folder don't know if it makes a difference? Also the game doesn't seem to lag that much before the crash and it is usually very sudden and doesn't give any warning.
Thanks!

Sorry for the delay, but can you delete the cache files again (nevermind the "WorldCaches" folder if you don't have that), and then re-start the game ? Then, inside the game, go to the options menu, tune down some graphics settings, like resolution, edge smoothing, lot detail, and MARK the box "enable object hiding" too.
See if this improves anything in your game.
