sims 3 wont load Empty sims 3 wont load

Post by Guest Wed 28 May 2014, 20:06

okay, Im absolutely desperate. My sims game wouldnt load and i had to restart my computer everytime i tried to run the game. So i uninstalled the game and then downloaded it from a different source. i tried to run it without anu custom files and it loaded up fine. before i uninstalled it i had both mods (sims package files, with the proper framework and everything) and the sim3packs. so first thing first i wanted to see if it was the package files that caused the game to fail. i installed framework and run the test (with the nointro.package) and then after i saw it working i tried to add a few sliders and they were working fine. since there isnt a program that lets me detect corrupt or conflicated sim3pack files i converted all my sim3packs (I have about 900 of those) and i deleted the corrupt ones (i detected them using sims3 dashboard by delphy) so i tried to run the game again and surprise surprise i doesnt work. i have over 900 GB of free space so i really have no clue why it wont let me play given the fact that the game was working just fine (with the same sim3pack and mods)
please help me!
also. I updated to the latest version and my store pack is up to date
thanks in advance

Hello,

There isn't much I can suggest at this point, I'm afraid. But first of all, Delphy's dashboard is very unreliable, so forget that tool. As for the .sims3packs, where did you get them from ? If there is just ONE corrupted .sims3pack, then it can screw up your entire game.

The following is just a very rough "rule of thumb", but you should ONLY use .sims3pack files from the official store, because these official items are safe to use. But if you want to have user-made .sims3packs, then you have to be more careful.

As hard as it sounds, try playing without your user-made .sims3packs, and only use the official store content. Good luck and let me know if you need more assistance with that !
