Clicking on sim takes ages
When I click on any sim to open up the interactions menu it takes ages to load.
I already tried to factory reset so it's not cc.
I wouldn't blame my computer specs either, everything else runs smooth, could even capture the video at 60fps without slowing down the game.
If I look at the resource monitor at the same time, the action seems to consume enormous amounts of CPU time. Enormous meaning 200% more than normal, if the game actually used my whole CPU it would load in an instant. But sadly it uses about 20% of one thread out of 8, but that's an issue with the engine itself.
Here's an example of this happening in action

got any mods installed? or poses, the more interactions you can do with a sim,the more slower it will open.

Nope, it also happend with a fresh Electronic Arts/Sims 3 folder. And the number of interactions is not high, as the laptop interaction menu has 2x more options and does not lag

Hello,
Check out this here:

Also, save that sim into the "bin", in edit-town mode. Then make a new save (maybe in another town) and put the sim into that new save. Do you get the same effects then ?

Nope, does not change anything. Even a completely new save with new sims has this problem.Carlos wrote:Hello,

Can you do ONLY steps #2 and #3 here ? https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t857-the-sims-3-crashes-freezes-to-desktop-fix-updated-on-7-01-2014
If your Windows is a 64-bit version AND if your computer has 4 GB of RAM or more, then focus on step #3 in particular. Download the "4 GB patch" from here.
After downloading, double-click on that 4 GB patch and in the next prompt, choose the TS3W.exe in your base game location. Usually, that's C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin. Wait for the message "executable successfully patched" and close the 4 GB patch.
Note that this method will not work if your Windows is a 32-bit version and/or if your computer has fewer than 4 GB of RAM. After doing that, go on with the rest of the steps. These instructions should be pretty self-explanatory.
Now go to My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3 and delete all contents inside the Currentgame.sims3 folder. Also, in My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3, delete the following stuff:
-CASPartCache.package
-compositorCache.package
-scriptCache.package
-simCompositorCache.package
-socialCache.package
-plus the contents of the folders "WorldCaches" & "Thumbnails"
Re-start the game then and see if anything improved. You may even turn off your anti-virus program completely before playing The Sims 3.
Next, when did you actually realize that problem ? Is that a fresh installation ? Did the lag happen out of the blue, or did you do anything else before this glitch occurred ?
