Base Game From Origin? Empty Base Game From Origin?

Post by Guest Sun 13 Jul 2014, 09:33

Hello all!

 :newfag:

I bought the base game from walmart. It came with Late Night and High End Loft Stuff. I also got a free stuff pack called Town Life Stuff, for TS3's anniversary at the beginning of the year. I was trying to see if I could put torrent EP's in my game despite all the bought and free EP's I have? And is there a separate process upon downloading them?

Hello and welcome,

So is your base game registered to an Origin account ? Can you at first just install the base game and the open the "launcher" of it ? You can do that by the shortcut that will be created during installation. Or with the Sims3LauncherW.exe, in your base game location. The base game location can either be

C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin or C:\Program files(x86)\Origin games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin.

Once you open the launcher, hover with the mouse over the icon on the bottom left of your launcher window. Can you tell me the number that shows up there ? Smile  We'll then proceed further...

//EDIT

Generally, it's possible to add torented expansions to retail games, but in some cases, it isn't, which is why I asked you to tell me the number of your base game version, by hovering with the mouse over the base game icon in the launcher.

OK, good, let's see. Can you now install all your expansion/stuff packs ? After doing that, you can even go here, and download additional stuff packs/expansions:

http://www.games4theworld.org/downloads.html

You'll need a torrent client, to download from there, like "uTorrent" (google for it). Then click on the magnet symbol to start the download in the client. Once you got everything you want, you need to extract the .RAR files with WinRAR (you can get it from the above link too).

Make empty folders for each single expansion, and extract all the contents of each .RAR, into one single folder. Start installing the stuff by going into each folder, and using the "autorun.exe".

And...when you are done with installing everything you want, you simply do the steps from #2 to #4 here:

https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly

Good luck and let me know if there is anything unclear to you, though, it shouldn't be too difficult. Smile

Okay! Everything was working up until I have added The Sims 3 Supernatural Ep. It keeps saying that the launcher crashed.

Launcher problems aside (I'll get to that too, later on), are you able to start the game ? You can ALSO start the game with the TS3W.exe file, located in your base game location. In your case, I guess that's C:\Program files(x86)\Origin games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin.
