Saves after patch unreachable, CAW replaced all EP trees
After patching to 1.67 (57?), some of my most recent saves, including exported-imported worlds are unreachable. In Create a World, all trees from EPs have been replaced by oak. What have I done, is there any way to remedy this?
//EDIT
Do you think a reinstall might help?
All EP trees have been replaced by oak trees, and the lost objects are not available in the Effect, Tree, Deco directory.

Hello,
First of all make sure that your game is really up-dated to the latest possible version, 1.67. If you re-do the steps from #2 to #4 here, you should be fine:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
Next, make sure to re-download and re-install the LATEST version of CAW too, here:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t7423-download-link-for-the-create-a-world-tool
About your problem with the missing saves and other stuff...unfortunately, this is a glitch that can happen sometimes. You need to remember that when you update the game, and you have a folder called "The Sims 3" in My Documents/Electronic Arts, then the patching process can corrupt the folder "The Sims 3" (with all your saves/mods/CC and so on).
The easiest way to avoid that, is that you simply RENAME that folder "The Sims 3", before each patching. Just change the folder's name into anything you like. And after the patching is done, rename the folder "back to normal", before starting the game again.
And it's recommended to make backups of save files regularly, depending on how often you play the game. For example, I make regular backups of my saves (My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Saves) onto my external hard-drive.
If you don't have a backup, I'm afraid you have to start over.
I hope this clears things up a bit !

I have a backup! I placed my pre-patch backup files into the My Doc-EA folder after patching and thought that was why I was missing saved games. I will use your patches and updates (I simply forgot that my game was atypical from not having played in some time and installed the official launcher updates whoops).
Thank you Carlos

EDIT
Updated, everything works perfectly. Thank you.
Though, the trees in CAW remain untouched, still oak. The directory names (ex "Scary Tree", "Tree European Aspen EP11") still exist under Layers, like CAW doesn't recognize the EP data.

Hello again and sorry for the late reply,
There are cache files you may want to try deleting:
1) My Documents\ Electronic Arts\ The Sims 3 Create A World Tool\ WorldbuilderCache
2) My Documents\ Electronic Arts\ The Sims 3 Create A World Tool\ UserToolData\ LocalWork
Delete the contents inside them, if there are any. Next, if you have Windows 7, go to the following location:
C:\Users\
If you have such a folder "The Sims 3 Create a World Tool", then delete it. After that, re-start CAW and see if anything improved. Good luck !

Re: Saves after patch unreachable, CAW replaced all EP trees
You've been of such great help, I truly appreciate all you do for this forum and for me and my stupid problem. Thank you.
I wish your suggestions had worked, but I think I'll try a full reinstall of the series. If all else fails, you know.

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more service than that, but I also have to admit that my experience with CAW/CAP is somewhat limited (can you believe that ?! lol). If you want to try an un-install, please re-boot the computer after the un-installation - that is very important.
After the re-boot, re-install the games. And yes, feel free to post back on here whenever you like !
