Main menu error. [SOLVED]
First I'd really like to say I love your site. Games4theworld has really made my gaming experience that much more incredible. Now, on to the problem at hand. I downloaded and installed some of The Sims 3 expansions from your site and installed them to the base game which I have on Origin. When I tried running the game I got a message saying "It looks like you have installed an unofficial game modification that does not match your current version of The Sims 3. We recommend that you either uninstall these game modifications or get updated versions of them - otherwise you may experience crashes or significant bugs. Do you want to quit?" When I clicked on Continue and the loadup process was complete the main menu was blank. No options to start a new game, no option to quit, nothing. I get this message even without my mods folder installed. So what should I do? Should I uninstall them and stick with downloading the base game and all of the expansions from your site? Cause I thought that perhaps mixing the game from Origin and the expansions from your site might be causing the problem. Beyond that I'm stumped. I appreciate any help on this issue.

Hello Mentality,
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t1171-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-3-correctly
If you repeat the steps from #2 to #4 there, you should be fine. Please make sure to actually apply the Ultimate fix (step #4 in the guide) to the following location, if your base game is from Origin:
C:\Program files(x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin.
And of course, you need to replace all existing files. Good luck !
P.S. in order for the "Ultimate fix" to work, you need to have at least one of the expansions installed, that are mentioned in step #1 of the guide.

Oh yeah. I forgot about the ultimate fix. I'm sorry. That might be the problem. I sure as hell hope it is. I've been testing and uninstalling and reinstalling for a while now trying to track down the source of the problem. It's been driving me crazy. Lol

If you don't have any other mods, then you didn't apply the Ultimate fix correctly. Plesae make sure to follow the steps I mentioned correctly, and paste the files into the Origin location I mentioned, too.
Good luck and do post back about your progress !

By replacing all existing files, do you mean generating a new game folder in My Documents/Electronic Arts?

Please read the guide again very carefully...you need to copy the two files inside the #crack folder of the "Ultimate fix" (TS3W.exe and TSLHost.dll). And then you simply go into the location I mentioned in my first post - the C:\Program files(x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 3\Game\Bin one.
When you paste the two files inside, you'll be prompted what to do. Please choose "copy and replace" two times (= for all files). No need to "create a new folder" or something similar.

Re: Main menu error. [SOLVED]
Wow, I can't believe I forgot how to do all of that. I must be slow upstairs or something, cause I've done it before. I just needed reminding. Well it works now, I appreciate the help. Keep doing what you guys do best. Looking forward to a download of The Sims 4 being posted to the downloads site by the way!
