Hello,

Have you saved that house to the library, in "edit town" ? You should do that, in case you haven't. Also, keep in mind that if your sims use items from the "Pets" expansion, OR, if you are using items from Pets in that house (furniture...), and you un-install Pets, then these things will be gone.

In that case, when you re-start the game the first time after un-installing, you will get a message saying "some items are missing and were replaced with others". In that case, the sims will wear other stuff, from other expansions, and the furniture will be replaced with other stuff too.

Also, keep in mind that if your savegame is in Appaloosa Plains (the neighborhood of "Pets"), then you won't be able to start your game, if you un-install Pets. Because..the neighborhood is "missing". Wink

If you ask me, un-installing an expansion is far too much of a hassle because of these reasons...why do you want to do that ? Unless your computer is (really) weak, and you want to un-install something to improve game performance, there is no point in removing an expansion. If I were you, I would simply install Late Night, "on top" of the game, and then go on playing. Smile

Besides, if you don't un-install correctly, it can completely screw up your game...

uninstalling an expansion and installing a new one [SOLVED] Empty Re: uninstalling an expansion and installing a new one [SOLVED]

i have generation, seasons, ambitions, university, supernatural and pets. and i have free space on my local disk c for about 35.3gb. and late night is 6.29gb. so i'm afraid i will my game will lag, not responding or shut down by itself.

because last two days, while i was saving the game after hours of playing, the saving went on for an hour. so i assumed it's not responding. last night, while my sister was playing, the game shut down and said 'the sims 3 has stopped working' out of the blue.

and i find late night is interesting. and i seldom make pets because i can't seem to manage everything in the game like the career, degree and pets.

//EDIT: and how do i uninstall it? i had done this once before and i just went to the control panel and uninstall an expansion from there. is that the correct way?

Hello,

Please do not double post.
And yes, Control Panel is indeed the right way. You can also use My Uninstaller Pro.
