Gallery not working? [SOLVED] Empty Gallery not working? [SOLVED]

Post by Guest Sun 09 Nov 2014, 15:57

So I've checked out

https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t18195-connecting-to-the-gallery-in-the-sims-4

and I am using an Origin account and made sure I've logged in before playing TS4, however when I'm at the main menu and open the gallery and click community it asks me if I want to connect in which I do and it proceeds to "connect" forever until I cancel it. Does it take this long? Yes I've enabled online mode and such in the settings. Does this have something to do with me using the Reloaded version before the G4TW version?

Hello,
I don't think this is related to our torrent.
Either the speed of your connection is low, or the EA servers are a bit busy.
Does this still happen to this day?

Hi there! Smile

When you were trying to connect, did you make sure that your username was showing in the top right of the Gallery window? If it was showing the RLD! username instead, then the connection will never complete (as the game is in offline mode).

Normally, when you leave Origin running in the background, the game should start in online mode already. Are Origin and The Sims 4 installed in the same drive, by any chance?

You are correct! It is indeed showing RLD! instead of my origin username. I was able to use the gallery with the G4TW a few weeks ago but then I had to install a new OS (Windows 8.1) and reinstalled Origin and this. They are both in the same drive.

Well, I don't think the OS is an issue, as I am using Windows 8.1 too and it works without any problems. Are you sure Origin is completely updated? And did you make sure that Origin is able to connect to the internet? Maybe the connection is disabled, preventing the game from connecting to Origin (and the Gallery, for that matter).

I've found the solution Smile

I ran Origin.exe as an administrator along with TS4.exe and that seemed to do the trick. I'm able to connect to the gallery now. Hopefully this helps others who had this issue.

Thanks for letting us know! This will indeed help us a lot, as maybe this is the reason some others aren't able to connect to the Gallery either. Very Happy

So, is your problem solved now? Or is there anything else we can help you with at the moment? Wink

I will add your suggestion to the guide on Connecting to the Gallery a little later. Thanks again!

Problem solved, topic closed. If you ever need anything else, be sure to come back. Have fun!
