Launches to a tiny window

I followed the instructions for the install and ultimate fix, and the game launches... I guess? It's not in a remotely playable state, however.
That's it. That's the entire window, which is not resizable. Any ideas? I've tried repairing, uninstall, reinstall... same deal.

Sorry for the late reply. It could help us a lot if you gave us a little more detail about the problem. What Windows do you have? Did you download the game from here? And did you try the game before applying the update (Ultimate Fix) to see if it worked fine?
And do you hear the music from the game at the background, or is it just that window that appears?

I'm using Windows 7, I downloaded the game from here, but I did not try the game before applying the update originally. I uninstalled, reinstalled just the base, and tried it, and got the same thing. I do not hear music from the game, it is only the window. Task manager recognizes it fine (I've had occasional problems with other programs not being seen by it) and compatibility testing did nothing. Antivirus was off when I tried launching as well, and running as admin has no change.

Can you tell us what anti-virus program you have ? And can you try de-activating it for now ? After you did that, please re-download and re-apply the latest Ultimate fix. Good luck !

My antivirus is avast, which has been disabled for every attempt. I tried those steps, and successfully excluded the sims4 exe and patched it, then reinstalled the ultimate fix... still same result. I had tried running it before the ultimate fix and had gotten the missing dll, but after installation of the fix, I just get the tiny window again.

With avast disabled, can you actually RE-DOWNLOAD the Ultimate fix, here ?

And then re-yppl it according to the instructions. Good luck !
P.S. please add the whole folder C:\Program files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to the exclusions. And ALSO add the download location for your internet browser downloads (Firefox/Chrome) to these exclusions.
