Pets (Fixed) Requires AppaloosaPlains.objectcache. [SOLVED]
I tried to install Sims 3 Pets (Fixed version) from games4theworld, but when it's about 5% done, it asks for a disk 1, with a folder with this cache. I tried to apply the Pets Fix (with EA Help folders etc., copied and replaced) then tried to install it again. Previous discussions said it will help, but when I tried the 2nd time, it still asks for the disk that contains the file.
What should I do?
Thank you in advance!

Hello chikabow and welcome,
If you downloaded the game named "Pets [FIXED]" you do NOT need the additional fix you were trying to apply. Please ignore that additional fix.
For now, please make a NEW folder somewhere. And then you use the program WinRAR to extract ALL contents of the .RAR file (of "Pets FIXED"), into the folder you just created. If you don't have WinRAR 4.20, get it here:
http://games4theworld.org/downloads.html
Install instructions are included. Once you install WinRAR, double-click on the .RAR of Pets [FIXED]. Mark ALL contents inside with your mouse, as if you were marking a text. And then you drag + drop the contents out into the folder you just created. Then you re-start the installtion from within the folder. Good luck and keep us posted.

Re: Pets (Fixed) Requires AppaloosaPlains.objectcache. [SOLVED]
At first I tried to install as it is, without the additional fix but it still required the world cache. Then I checked some posts from people with similar problem and used the advice which was to apply the fix.
I see that now.
Well, I have 1.67 patch and Into the Future and Island Paradise EP, and they work fine..
Should I re-download the torrent and try to install it again, could that be the best option?

Hi there,
The Fix is for the "old" version of our Pets upload, which doesn't work. If you used the [FIXED] version, you do not need the Fix at all, so please remove it completely.
As for your issue, have you tried extracting the downloaded .rar file using WinRAR first, as Carlos suggested? That should fix your issue. Extract all the files in the .RAR file to an empty folder on your Desktop and then run the installation wizard from that folder again. (Only use WinRAR to extract the .RAR file, and not software like 7ZIP or WinZIP)
There's no need to reinstall or re-download anything.

Thank you!
It turned out I extracted Pets Fixed with 7-zip, although I had the WinZip (I downloaded it a bit later and forgot the files were extracted with 7zip)!
Mod edit: problem solved, topic closed.
