The sims 3 mods, where to get?

Hello.
I see many people are talking about weapon mods and such, why add weapons? its a life sim not a war sim:P
And where can i get other mods?

modthesims.info is a great resource for free CC for Sims 3. Just remember that 90% of stuff comes in a .package folder & not a .sim3pack.
So, you CANNOT install them through the launcher. You have to set up a folder to use them in the game. Note that this means they won't appear in the launcher but in game.
The set up is as follows:
My Computer/My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3...
now the tricky part
You must go on modthesims.info & get their set up download
Now you will put all your fancy new .package folders in it like this...
My Computer/My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Packages
P.S. Don't ever touch, look at or think about the Resource.cfg file. YOU WILL BREAK YOUR GAME.

I'm using a handful of mods from mod the sims.
If you decide to mod your game, only add 1 mod at a time, see how it reacts in game. If you're having problems with a mod, first check compatibility. Some mods stop working after a new patch has been released so you'll need new versions of your mods as new updates for The Sims 3 are released. The same is true for new expansion or stuff packs. If a mod is up to date and still giving problems in game, you may not be able to use that mod, which is why it is wise not to add a whole bunch of them at once.
I tend to stick to mods that really add something to the game, like housecleaning for everyone, and I'm using some of Twallan's mods.
