Sims 3 fix won't work? Empty Sims 3 fix won't work?

I've followed the instructions to get sims to work but when I go to extract the fix it has an error reading. It says it's either an unkown format or damaged. Do I need another program other than winrar to extract it? I've tried downloading it several times but it doesnt seem to work. Help please?

Hello,

No, you really need to use WinRAR only! If the files are corrupt, I'm afraid you'll have to re-download the .rar file.
