after installing base game,town life nd generations
i ran th launcher, bt when updating it said-it fies hav been modified
plz help Sad

My first guess is, that you applied cracks before attempting to update, and that doesn't work.
The ultimate fix should solve your problem, follow the link in my signature for more info and a downloadlink, follow the instructions carefully.

hey i followed steps 10-16 in the ultimate fix
it says i need to aaply crack for towns life nd generations
then update it it

Hello,
The last file you copy is the crack, the others are EA original files. Here's a post that can help you further.

it came with a crack i dont need tht nw since th ultimate fix is there ryt? :/

Correct.
You'd have needed the crack when it was first released, if you'
re using the fix, its best to skip the cracks that came with the game file.

Ok I'd like you to read this post and watch the video to make sure you're copying the files to the right locations and in the right order, because it looks like you're trying to update a cracked game.

You don't have to reinstall the game! Making sure you're applying the fix in the correct way should be enough.
