Outdoor Retreat & Holiday Celebration items. Empty Outdoor Retreat & Holiday Celebration items.

Post by The_gh0stm4n Wed 28 Jan 2015, 13:09

I just very briefly tested this here myself, to see if it works:
http://goo.gl/H9Xmdb

And it did work for me. @Admin, so you might want to put up that one for G4TW too. Smile  I (finally) got rid of my legit "TS4 Limited Edition", in favor of G4TW's game and this Outdoor retreat.

I initially encountered an issue with the infamous "unable to start: initialization error at startup". But I quickly determined that this was due to the fact that the files were "cleaned" by avast: as I downloaded these files (of the Outdoor retreat & Holiday celebration pack) on a USB flashdrive, and the drive was not on the exclusion list, they were cleaned (in fact, I realized that too late  Facepalm ).

I then simply used the TS4.exe file from the current Ultimate fix, version 1.3.32.1010 (since the same file can be used for this Outdoor retreat too, as they are the same). And then got the game working again. Very Happy  Later in the day, I'll be doing some more playtesting. But for now, I think this will suffice. Good luck to all !

P.S. @Admin, you might want to add a notice in the install instructions of that Outdoor retreat, that people should ALSO add the location of their torrent downloads to the "exclusion list". I've said it in my guide here already: most people underestimate or overlook to add all their download locations (Chrome/Firefox/Internet Explorer/uTorrent/etc.) to these exclusions too.

Otherwise they will encounter the same issue as I did.  Carlos is tha man

//EDIT

By the way: editing the RldOrigin.ini file as shown here is not necessary (anymore) in this release. Just copy + paste, and replace all existing files & folders.

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for testing! That saves me a lot of time. Very Happy
I'll do some rough testing though.

I see that the file is about 700MB in size, but I'll just merge it with the current Ultimate Fix files, I guess. Shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Or wait... are we going to create a new torrent for it? Outdoor Retreat is not actually an "expansion" pack, right?

So, are we going to use this Crack or the one from this user here?
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t19036-installing-outdoor-retreat-holiday-celebration-tutorial

Because keeping both may confuse users at the end. Or it's actually the same Crack? scratch

I'm currently downloading the torrent to check it out.

Hello SeoY,

The crack this user was using is basically the TS4.exe from the current (!) G4TW Ultimate fix. I can confirm myself, that the TS4.exe from the current Ultimate fix will work for the torrent I linked to, in my opening post. And a modified RlDOrigin.ini was used in that tutorial too, but again - it's not needed here. The torrent I linked to above only needs to be copied + pasted to the game installation folder.

In terms of in-game issues, I can use all the objects and also travel to that "Granite Falls" world village.

@Admin, yes, I guess you can merge the current Ultimate fix, with the torrent I linked to. Because that's basically what I did myself too Very Happy  (applied the Ultimate fix at first, then again this folder).

//EDIT

I'm not sure if a separate torrent for that is good or bad - I'll leave that discussion to you guys, since I don't really mind. Razz

Hi Carlos! Smile

I thought that maybe the torrent had a different TS4.exe, or something of the sort. But now that I see it it's exactly the same as the tutorial described by that user.

Now, if we are going to use the already modified RldOrigin.ini in the Ultimate Fix, then having that tutorial to change it would be kind of useless, don't you think?

Now, the problem I'm having is the Gallery. The cracked Outdoor Retreat and Holiday Pack completely changed the status of that service, and now the Gallery with the DLC works a lot different. For example, when you go Online, the items are actually removed from the Lots. Who knows what else, I'm still experimenting with that. The Guide to Connect to the Gallery will have to be drastically changed... I think there still is a workaround to download things from the Gallery even with all of this, but I'll have to test it a little bit. WhatDidUJustCallMe?

Yes, I'll close/move that topic afterwards, of course. (To avoid further confusion)

Keep us updated about the Gallery, thanks!

Now that I ran some tests, it seems that my suspicions were correct. You can indeed still connect to the Gallery normally, but only from the Main Menu of the game. If you enter a Save, then a lot of very very bad things will happen (if you are using any DLC in the Save at all). Most of the things from my Guide will stay the same. The only thing that will change drastically is if the users want to upload some of their creations to the Gallery. They will have to follow a more lengthy process to do it. But it still can be done, hopefully.

I'm not sure about adding a warning at the top of the Guide at this moment, to warn about all of this. But the new Ultimate Fix hasn't actually been released yet, so the addition of the DLC is not official yet. If you want me to do it, just tell me and I'll add it as soon as I can. I'm still going to update it very soon, accounting for all of this.

Do you think that maybe in the future the actual RELOADED will release a version of Outdoor Retreat and the Holiday Celebration Pack? (Not this RldGames that released this torrent).

Exactly. This tutorial by DC_91 will become useless, once we get that torrent out. I actually knew that, before moving that thread to the "Fixes" section. But I didn't want to cause any negativity, hence I just went ahead. Razz

About the gallery, I haven't tested that yet. But some users reported "issues" too. I think it is already miraculous enough, that this workaround was even possible in the first place. And since EA and their lackeys are also watching this forum, they have taken notice of that workaround too. I wouldn't be surprised if using the gallery in a pirated game became impossible at some point, or at least very cumbersome.

Of course, do add a big warning at the beginning of your guide.
What do you want the warning in the Ultimate Fix' Installation Guide to say exactly?

I also told him that it'd be a 'temporary' solution only, until we have something.
And hey, that also explains why all our uploads are getting removed from KickassTorrents and Torcache. Smile
