Can't Save Households in CaS

I've had this problem once or twice before but it stopped for a long time so I thought it had just been a glitch but now it's popped back up and won't go away. But basically, when I'm in Create-a-Sim, I can't save my household to my library. I can click on the save button and it will give me the screen that shows my household and I can click the button to save them, and the game will tell me that it saved them, but when I go to my library they aren't there. It started doing this last night and the other times it did this to me, quitting and restarting the game fixed it but it's not fixing it now. I need to be able to save my household because I'm starting a new Let's Play and so I'm making the family before I actually do any recording, but the family won't save. I also have a tendency to spend a lot of time making sims and I'm not always able to finish a household in one sitting so being able to save them and not lose them is important to me. I'm not sure why it started doing this. I didn't do anything different with my game, and I made sure that Origin is closed out.

Is there a way to fix this? Also, the only thing I did differently with my computer is I installed Steam and Tomb Raider before I began making them, and steam is up and running. Could Steam be causing an issue? If not, I would appreciate any insight into why I can't save my households and how to fix it.
