Tasks for Get to Work not popping up?

Everything else in GTW works fine from what I've seen but whenever I actually go to work the task things don't pop up? I know they exist because I've seen gameplay from other people and when I tell my sim to do certain things it only increases the performance bar some of the time, if at all, so I'm assuming there's something specific that I have to be doing at certain times? At first I just thought they got rid of that part of part of an update but it seems like that not that case. It happens with every GTW career I've done so far. Help!?
