Problem with Origin. [SOLVED]
So I have a legit copy of the base game and a G4TW download of Get to Work. Today I decided to update the game (not sure if that was a no-no) and ever since I did, I can't open the game without Origin popping up. I tried to end process in task manager, disable Origin in-game from within the game itself, go offline in both the game and Origin, and still, every time I try to open the game Origin continues to activate.
Please let me know if there is any way to disable Origin entirely so it does not activate... or maybe there's something else I can try? I appreciate any and all help!

When you use something from G4TW you cannot then switch back to doing things through Origin. G4TW will send out ultimate fixes when they can which will update your game for you.
Because the game was updated through Origin, it will try to run through there. I don't personally know if there's a way to backtrack the update in The Sims 4 though.

I understand, but perhaps even though the update already happened, there should still be a way to bypass Origin when loading my game, right?

I hope so. At the end of the day the worst thing I could think of to happen (and I mean this is the absolute worse) is that you'd need to download G4TW base game, and whatever other expansions you want. Then you'd just have to move your save game over. That's not too bad . I'm sure someone will be able to help you a bit more here.polina1105 wrote:I understand, but perhaps even though the update already happened, there should still be a way to bypass Origin when loading my game, right?

Right, that would be a last resort for me, but thanks for that suggestion! Any other thoughts on bypassing Origin?

Welcome to the forum and sorry for the belated reply,
I made a post about this issue here a few days ago:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t20385-a-note-for-owners-of-the-sims-4-version-on-origin
The main message of this announcement is that owners of legit Sims 4 games on Origin should NEVER let the game update via Origin. In your case, please wait until a new "Ultimate fix" has been released. I can't tell when that will be though.
This would be the only way to "bypass" Origin, then.

Alright then. It seems you have not updated via Origin yet, which is good. But still: remember the thing about de-activating the Origin updates, too (see my previous post). Feel free to open a new thread anytime again if you have more questions to ask. Problem solved, topic closed. Have fun !
