Re: Minecraft
So I recently switched to Windows 10. Turned out that was a dumb move, since it annoyed me in 3 days more than XP and Vista have in a lifetime (combined). Before upgrading back to Windows 8 though I thought I'd give Minecraft Windows 10 Edition a try.
I'm at a loss for words.

Wow... Good thing I didn't upgrade (yet).
But you can still just run the original Minecraft...

Barely. Who knows for how long, it's living on borrowed time now that the Xbox Supremacy Edition is out.

I run the "free" java version on Windows 10 x64
Really great performance on my machine, I did not see the need to try the MS version yet (is it free or do you need a mojang licence?).
Thanks for moving the topic, Carlos! I did not know I was allowed to post this type of content here

Mine started showing it's age around 1.4. At 1.6 it became unplayable, at 1.7 it was barely playable with the draw distance set to 4 chunks, and now it runs decently with the draw distance set to 16 chunks. But "decently" for a game with N64 graphics is unacceptable.

Re: Minecraft
Interesting... Why are you having performance issues? I am running the game on an i7 machine with GTX 870M video and 32GB of RAM with maximum chunks (I guess 16, right?) and it works pretty well, except for the time it takes to load chunks when I move long distances (does Windows version improve loading of chunks when you play far from the server?)...Anarchy wrote:Sim Architect wrote:I run the "free" java version on Windows 10 x64

Your comment made me curious about how I could find the mine-craft for Windows "for free", I will look around for a torrent

I'm having performance issues because Minecraft was coded by monkeys in Java Also max draw distance in 1.8 is 32 chunks. My game won't even generate chunks at all if I set it higher than 20 chunks.
Not sure what you mean about the last bit. Aren't you already playing Minecraft? And don't you already own it (since you can play online)?

No, he plays a pirated version (if I'm not mistaken), on an offline server.
Minecraft indeed demands a lot from the CPU and RAM. The game is just horribly coded.

Re: Minecraft
If you have a pirated copy of the game, you can only play on servers that are in the so-called "Offline mode". The server is still multiplayer, but it won't check the used username against the Mojang servers, so you can join with any name (even if it's already taken by someone else).Anarchy wrote:Admin wrote:No, he plays a pirated version (if I'm not mistaken), on an offline server.

If the server is "Online mode", only people with a registered Mojang account can join (since their account will be checked against the database)

and I am NOT going to PAY for it soon, sorry! I have more important things to fund with my short pension like my food, rent and meds... I am even considering a time off medical insurance to see if I can save some money (I am not starving, but I really want to recover my savings, since Brazil is facing a serious crisis now and things may get even worse).Admin wrote:If you have a pirated copy of the game, you can only play on servers that are in the so-called "Offline mode". I love MC, but I love it being free even more, so no Windows 10 version for me so far, the cracking teams around the world will have to pirate it before I can even think of playing with it. I hope they do not stop producing new versions for the java version before the pirate teams start working on the windows versions, though, or I WILL be outdated!!!

So far? Why would you want the Windows 10 Edition to begin with? O.o
It's a straight up downgrade from the normal PC version. Not to mention it plays like a console game, no customizable controls, graphics, etc.

You're welcome. After looking it up, it seems that it's not even a port of the Xbox edition, but the Pocket / mobile edition

Yeah it runs faster for the same reason The Sims 4 does in comparison to The Sims 3: because it's missing the majority of features and content.

There are many cracked versions out there, just look for one that has a lot of seeders. (And make sure to read the comments)sylvantos wrote:I assume there is a download link for a cracked version of minecraft?

You could also buy it...
EDIT: That was an idiotic thing to say. Sorry, just slipped out...

The moment i saw it on the store front in W10 I thought something was up. If Microsoft owns it, they are playing a very slimey trick..because they seem to be calling themselves mojang as well?

They will keep it hostage on Windows 10. While the W10 Edition is inferior now, it's also Java-less, and will likely feature the long awaited API eventually.

Not idiotic, just a bit snob (and I AM a snob by nature, even though I fight against that tendency of mine with all my strength, at least most of the time )...Anarchy wrote:Admin wrote:There are many cracked versions out there, just look for one that has a lot of seeders.
