Windows 7 to 10
Hey guys,
I currently have a pirated Windows 7 Ultimate (my friend installed it for me). I was wondering if I could upgrade to Windows 10 (as it really impressed me), or I have to wait for an activator of some kind?

I upgraded from Windows 7 Ultimate activated with Windows Loader by Daz and now my Windows 10 Pro is activated. But this is no guaranty that it will also work for you.
If you decide to upgrade you need to do the upgrade before a clean install, and after upgrade you can go back to Windows 7 before 1 month passes if you don't like it or have any problems with it.

Hi there,
From what I have heard it is possible to upgrade just fine, even using pirated copies of Windows 7/8.

I myself won't upgrade/do a fresh install yet, because operating systems tend to be glitchy at launch. And there is no rush anyway: why "upgrade" to something new and run the risk of jacking up things (non-working drivers, programs, etc.) if the old system just works fine ? On the FB page (of G4TW) people are already complaining about non-working G4TW releases, like Cities: Skylines, though I cannot confirm these things myself.
I may switch to Windows 10, but not at the moment.

Re: Windows 7 to 10
I actually got it to work on my second attempt, because when I tried to reinstall Windows 7 audio drivers (the motherboard doesn't have drivers for Windows 8 or later versions) to make it use independent headphones I got BSOD every time it started (and you can't get into Safe Mode unless you enable the option in normal mode) so I downgraded to Windows 7. Next day I tried again, after uninstalling the audio drivers, and now it works with no problem (and that is weird because when I was on Windows 7 the sound didn't work at all without the drivers).
The point is I took the risk to upgrade and I don't have a reason to regret it (for now ).

I think I'll wait too. I have a small hard disk (37 GB from which 10 is taken by Windows 7) and maybe I'll get a new one in the future. Anyway I have hopes that Win10 will be better than Windows 8. Thanks everyone for the advice!
