Re downloading Sims 4 [SOLVED]
Hi,
I'm re-downloading the Sims 4 from scratch. Do I need to apply the Ultimate Fix straight away to get the expansion packs? Or are these separate downloads also?
Thanks x

Hi there, @xllmtx!
You just need to install the base game and then apply the Ultimate Fix. All of the DLC is included within.
Do let us know how it goes. Good luck!

Re: Re downloading Sims 4 [SOLVED]
Thank you! I have downloaded parts 1 to 5 of the Ultimate Fix. Do I need to open them all individually and follow each of their installation guides? Or do I just need one of these?

Re: Re downloading Sims 4 [SOLVED]
I have followed the installation guide from part 1 of the ultimate fix. I did as it said and moved the sims 4 folder out of the electronic arts folder - but this then deleted the sims 4 shortcut from my desktop. So I'm trying to run it through Game>Bin>TS4 but I'm receiving the message below
even when Origin IS up and running and signed in. (and when it's logged out and exited too).

Did you extract the Ultimate Fix correctly? You are supposed to download all five parts, and then open only one of them. They are several parts of a single RAR file, so when you have them all, extracting just one of them will give you all of the content, as it's opening the complete 'package'. Make sure that you extract it correctly or you may encounter problems like this one.
Now, did you also configure your antivirus for this new location, after you moved it? You may have done it for the old location, inside Electronic Arts, but if you move it and don't configure the Exceptions List of your antivirus again it will cause problems.
Just for the record: Origin needs to be completely closed, even in the Task Manager. If it's open, this error will appear. So, make sure that Origin is closed and not just minimized to the Notification Tray.
Please, let us know how it goes. Good luck!

Re: Re downloading Sims 4 [SOLVED]
Hello thanks for replying. Yes I did just as the installation guide in part 1 says. Origin is closed completely, I've checked in the tray and in task manager but I'm still getting this error. As soon as I try to run the sims Origin loads up and asks me to log in but I ignore and close it. I bought the legit game previously and it's stored in my Origin asking me to download it. I also made sure my antivirus software allowed the sims 4 in it's exceptions list but with no luck.

If Origin is popping up when you try to run the game, then there's a problem with the crack in the game. It may be because the Ultimate Fix was not properly applied, or it was removed by any security software you may have.
Where is the game located at now? In Program Files (x86), or in Origin Games? And are you sure you don't have any more antivirus software enabled? You may have more than one (like Windows Defender) and it's causing problems now.

Re: Re downloading Sims 4 [SOLVED]
I've just checked and it seems the game is located in both of those places. Could this be causing the conflict? I have Windows Firewall and I have Sims 4 enabled there.

Re: Re downloading Sims 4 [SOLVED]
Remember to check if your proper folders are excluded from your anti virus real time protection (Windows Firewall is a firewall program that controls network flow, it won't remove viruses or files, you may have Windows Defender or Microsoft Security Essentials installed, which are, indeed, anti virus and they will likely remove your crack). The video tutorial below shows all the steps involved in installing the game, including handling the anti virus.xllmtx wrote:I've just checked and it seems the game is located in both of those places. After you handled the anti virus, move all the files from "Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4" to "Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4" and write over / replace them all.
Next, move all the foles from "Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4" to "Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4".
Run "TS4.exe" inside of "Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4\Game\Bin" as administrator (by right clicking it, then selecting "run as administrator").
If you still have problems, try applying the crack only torrent (link in the video's description), since you might have lost the cracked originrld.dll (and you may be running the original one who won't work properly).
Let's know if you got your game working

I'm trying to apply the 'crack only' torrent to see if I might have lost the cracked origin.rld.dll , but the website doesn't seem to be working ( ) I have allowed both locations in Microsoft Security Essentials and I have turned off Windows Defender but still receiving the message that Origin is not running.

Please, remember that posting outside links is not allowed. I've removed the link from your post.
Now, are you sure you are running the copy of the game that is in Program Files (x86), and not the other one?

Re: Re downloading Sims 4 [SOLVED]
Apologies! I didn't know that. I am going to Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4\Game\Bin", right clicking it, then selecting "run as administrator"). I don't know if it's worth mentioning, the downloaded game worked fine until I applied the Ultimate Fix and installed Origin, then the message to say 'Origin isn't running' started to appear.'

It's okay your not alone on this lol...I been checking this forum since I started joining days ago and I have same problem as you and so others, some fixed some don't..so I dunno..and everytime someone posted same problem I check and the same solution is given...I even uninstall my Avast premier and my games, all downloads needed to run the sims 4, then install it again after my avast premier uninstall still didn't work.
I did move my sims 4 from program file(x86)electronic arts-sims 4 to program files(x86) The sims 4 still no luck. I did both, no move and with move..both don't work...no anti virus-firewall and with anti virus but excluded..no luck..so I dunno what is going on. I am waiting for new fix because the recent one is just temporary and hopefully that will work. I did play sims 3 before and I downloaded some pack from this website like 2 yrs ago and I had no problem...its still same process ( the only different before we don't have to move the sims4 from its original position ..so I dunno why this time dnt work.

Re: Re downloading Sims 4 [SOLVED]
Hi! Sorry if my reply sounds late, but remember we are all non EA related volunteers here juggling our assistance providing in the forum with our personal/professional lives
First, are you both sure you followed all the steps in the VIDEO below, and not the PDF guide that comes with the torrent?
Second, did you handle your anti-virus BEFORE you started downloading? If not, you may take a look at your anti virus history to see if your crack is quarantined or if it was deleted by it.
Third, thanks for letting me know you are facing problems with the "crack only" version of the torrent, but I looked into KAT and both my torrents are still active, but sometimes you need to wait for me to turn my computer on, since there aren't many seeds (specially the crack only version, which people seem to download and remove as soon they completed it, please SEEEEED )...
Electronic Arts is making serious money with this new game, so we expect they will make things harder on people who "play for free", meaning they are very likely paying the anti virus companies (and maybe even Microsoft itself) to cause problems to "non legit" copies of the game, sorry.
In 99% of the cases people get the Origin error message, though, it happens because a little step of the VIDEO was missed, or because they followed the PDF guide instead of the video (sorry, but can't update the torrent once it's there, we'd have to upload another version, find more seeds, then everything would be crazily slow for a couple of weeks and you'd get mad at us).
Anyway, are you in any case running Origin in "ON LINE" mode? If you are, the game won't work either. You need to be NOT running Origin or, if you do, please, keep it in "OFF LINE" mode at all times, from before you start the game to after you close it completely.
Besides that, some people got the game working after renaming their "The Sims 4" folder inside "Documents", making the game create a new "empty" one (maybe EA is writing some code there, who knows).
Another option would be to remove both the games with a tool like RevoUninstaller Pro, using the advanced options and deleting everything Sims 4 related on your system (please, backup your Sims 4 folder inside your Documents first, of course, if you have saved games you want to play later). Then, handle your anti virus properly, excluding BOTH the folders where you will download the torrent, the folder where you will extract the torrent to and both the folders "Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts" and "Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4" (don't use the (x86) if you are on a 32 bit system) from your Anti Virus real time protection (please create them manually if you don't have them yet), to minimize the risk of probems.
Then, follow the instructions in the VIDEO below very carefully (you can pause the video as much as you'd like until completion of each step, no worries) and let's know what happens

Re: Re downloading Sims 4 [SOLVED]
Thanks for your response I understand you are all very busy. Unfortunately I followed every step in the video and still no luck. I re-booted my computer recently and I don't yet have an anti virus software so that can't be the problem. I have no idea why it keeps trying to launch origin. I can run the legit game I have through Origin but none of the cracked expansion packs work then.

Re: Re downloading Sims 4 [SOLVED]
I have uninstalled the ultimate fix and the sims 4 torrent from games4theworld now works. However I have none of the expansion packs. Is there any way I can get these without installing the ultimate fix? As when I did this previously I received the message that Origin is not running etc.

Unfortunately, to get the latest version of the game and the DLC, you need to apply the Ultimate Fix. What location is the game currently on, exactly? Is it in Program Files (x86), or inside Electronic Arts?

I see. Are you using a shortcut on the desktop to open the game? And if you are, which location is this shortcut pointing to?
The game should only be at Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4. And to open the game, go into Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4\Game\Bin and double click on TS4.exe. If you are opening the copy inside of Electronic Arts, then the 'Origin isn't running' error will appear.

Re: Re downloading Sims 4 [SOLVED]
Should I delete the game from Electronic Arts? I have been going into Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4\Game\Bin and right clicking on run as administrator but that is where I get the message saying Origin isn't running (with and without the ultimate fix installed). If I open the game through the shortcut on the desktop, the base game will work but without the expansion packs. Very confusing.

That sounds like the shortcut is pointing to the game inside Electronic Arts. Instead of deleting it outright, rename the folder inside Electronic Arts to something completely different. Like 'Test' or names of the sort. Then, edit the shortcut in the desktop to open the game that isn't in Electronic Arts, or delete it and create a new one from the TS4.exe that is in that location you mentioned.
Also, are you sure Origin isn't running? Even in the background? You should look in the Task Manager to make sure that it isn't running. The game opening without any Expansion Packs sounds like a problem the old Ultimate Fix had when Origin was open, when Origin would remove every DLC of the game.
