Sims Medieval doesn't work on Windows 8/10. Empty Sims Medieval doesn't work on Windows 8/10.

I have tried multiple times to get the Sims Medieval to play on my Windows 10 computer with no luck. It will install, but when I click on it to play, it doesn't do anything at all. When I looked it up on EA, it says that the original version of the Sims Medieval is not supported on Windows 8 or Windows 10 and the only way past that is to download the updated version from their website. It would be nice if the newest version was available on here or if there was at least a warning for Windows 8/10 users so that I wouldn't have wasted my time.

Welcome to the forum,

You are right that there is no special notice about Windows 8/10 in the installation guides that are included in the games themselves (TS Medieval basegame + "Pirates & Nobles" expansion). But keep in mind that the games were released back in...2011 ? If I recall correctly, at the time Games4theworld released those games, Windows 8 hadn't been officially released yet. So yes, parts of the installation notes may indeed be outdated.

And you're also right that there is no special notice on the forum itself, however, I posted this here about a year ago:
https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t18497-must-read-comprehensive-the-sims-medieval-install-guide

It is an "Announcement"-topic, which you can find if you navigate into the "TS1, TS2 & TS Medieval Fixes"-section, and look at the top hereThe Sims Medieval & the "Pirates and Nobles" expansion are working fine on my own Windows 10 (Enterprise) system. And yes, I used the same method as described in that comprehensive guide.

As the 'comprehensive guide' states, please do steps 2 and 3 for now, if you just want to play the base game of TS Medieval. If you also want to play the 'Pirates & Nobles' expansion, skip step #3 and go on with the rest. That means: you should download and apply the patch that I mentioned and linked to, in step #2. Even if you updated your game through the launcher already, please re-apply that manual patch. Just double-click it after downloading and follow the on-screen instructions. After that, follow through with the rest of the steps, depending on whether you want to play just the base game or the expansion too. Make sure to read the steps in the guide carefully.

Good luck !

P.S. I forgot, please also make sure to download and install ALL available Windows updates for your system, via the System Control Panel !

P.P.S. Owners of the legit game also have the issue. TS Medieval was never popular, and I myself never played it that much, though I completed a few quests. The game has been neglected by EA, and as far as the forum here is concerned, the game wasn't very popular here either. Most people preferred playing Sims 3.
