Sims 4 not working on Windows 10 Empty Sims 4 not working on Windows 10

Post by Guest Fri 17 Jun 2016, 01:39

I recently upgraded my computer to windows 10 and I had the Sims 4 deluxe version downloaded from torrent on my computer which worked perfectly. After the upgrade it didn't so I have spent the majority of the day, uninstalling it, changing files, doing everything I could find that people have suggested. It doesn't matter what I do, all it would do was open up to a black screen for maybe like a second, then the blue loading circle on my mouse would appear and I'd be sent back to my desktop screen. I decided to completely uninstall the torrents I had and install everything from this website. I have followed every step at least 3 times, making sure I didn't miss anything. I downloaded and installed the base game, Get to work and Get together and then used the get together patch. I even tried using the Ultimate fix patch as that was one of the recommended fixes but all to no avail. I don't know if this is a specific Windows 10 thing as lots of people are having the same problems with the recent upgrade but alas I am at a loss of what to do. Everything on my computer is up to date, my video drivers etc. I have moved the file from EA into Program Files etc like I was told. I've tried running it through all compatibility modes available and yet nothing will change it!
What do I do? Why God.

Hi there,

Just so you know, I do not have a solution, however I have issues with getting Sims 4 to run on Windows 10.
However there is hope, I have gotten it to work before, its just recently it stopped.

I am looking into it, I will let you know.

Welcome to the forum @SimsFreak96,

When you say "upgraded to Windows 10", I assume you actually used the built-in option in Windows that offers you the upgrade ? If so, it's not recommended to do it this way. I had Windows 10 myself installed, but I pirated an .ISO image from somewhere, burned it to a DVD, and did a "clean install". No problems with that, other then dealing with the annoying Windows Defender that cannot be turned off directly and the numerous glitches on Windows 10.

In general, if your Windows 7 or Windows 8 are working fine, there really isn't much reason to "upgrade" to Windows 10.
