Lag Spikes?
Hi, my game runs at 60+ fps on pretty much the highest settings. But almost every minute I get a lag spike that's +10 sec's . Any suggestions on how to fix it? I am also playing in Isla Paradiso (the town that came with island paradise) and I own every stuff pack ad EP. Specs :
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz
8,00GB RAM

Re: Lag Spikes?
Sorry to hear that. Are you running your game on a Hard Drive or an SSD? Also, are your Documents in a Hard Drive or an SSD?
I feel it's very likely your issue/bottleneck may be your hard drive/SSD.
Please let's know if you found your way around. The game usually runs way better from an SSD than on a Hard Drive.

Hello,
Try defragmenting the hard-drive. Then, feel free to have a look at this forum post and try the suggestions there, if you haven't done so yet:

Good luck for now !

Re: Lag Spikes?
Hey, I found a pretty nice solution that involves letting the game use more RAM :
1. find your sims3.ini file
2. open it with notepad
3. edit the number of the line ''MemoryUsageLimit''. Its automatically set to 20000000. I have 16GB of RAM so I just gave it 6GB so I changed the number to 60000000. But don't give it more than half of your RAM or else problems might occur. This stopped the lag spikes. Sometimes they still occur but really rarely and for a short time:)
