Can't install base game - Sims 3 Empty Can't install base game - Sims 3

Post by Guest Sun 29 Nov 2015, 20:26

I downloaded the Sims 3 Complete Collection. The first step is to download the base game. I followed the instructions in the installation guide and used the serial code provided. However, I keep getting an error window that says the following:

"Please insert disk 1 that contains the file Caches\Sunset Valley.objectCache"

I located this file and directed it to look under C:\Users\Second Administrator\Desktop\The Sims 3 - The Complete Collection\The Sims 3\Game\Caches and it still says

"Setup could not find a file on the specified path or disk. Please check that the proper disk is inserted or specify a new path."

Please help!

That is a bit unusual...

Are you using a disk emulator or did you extract the files?

I have the same problem. And the second time I tried it it asks me to locate FullBuild1 package.
I'm using Deamon Tools to mount the images. Don't know what to do. Sad

Can't install base game - Sims 3 Empty Problem Installing: "Please insert disk 1 that contains the file GameDataSharedPackagesFullBuild1.package."

I followed every instruction, mounted the images with Daemon Tools Lite, and when I browse for the folder in question, it still says that the system couldn't find the specific file or path, and asks to check if the disk is in properly (or something).

What do I do? :\

I think you need to unmount the image of the expansion, then mount the image of the base game. Then click ok, then unmount the image of the base game when the installer asks for the expansion disk again, then click ok again...

Since it should go into the same letter, it may work.

But... I am not sure you need that if you apply the update right after you finish the base game, like I did in my video for The Sims 3 Complete Collection... Smile

Sorry! I think I am mistaken here!

Please, try to extract the content of the image of the base game into a folder and install from there.

Then do the rest as shown in the video for The Sims 3 Complete Collection.

Please keep us posted!

That is what is written in the instalation folder. I did that. I extracted the folders of the base game to a folder on my Desktop. I'm instaling from there.

Sorry to hear that! Did you had the chance to watch the video (I know it's a bit long, sorry)?

The Sims 3 Complete Collection: https://youtu.be/oTx-Swi2YV0

I remember having some problems like that and what I did in the video was the best way I found (sorry again for not remembering so well a few details, I installed the game and made the tutorial a while ago, and when I installed on the other computer I am right now, I just followed "my" video step by step without thinking much, since it was easier for me than trying to remember how it was done Smile )

Please let's know if you get it working.
