Direct x error with big fish games

I was just wondering if anyone has had any issues playing big fish games.  I thought I would ask here, maybe other players have ran into similar issues.  I have contacted tech support but they were no help, they gave me a coupon for a complimentary game which was very appreciated but that game gives me a direct x error.  They download and install fine but I can't play any of their games, the most recent game gives me a direct x error, any advice is greatly appreciated. do you mean those arcade games? because when i search big fish games i only get websites with arcade games can you give more details about the big fish games.

Ahhh... good ol' Big Fish games times. Used to play/buy their games often a looonnng time ago.
Some of their games are also available on Steam nowadays.

Anyway, do you mind posting a screenshot of the error?
Also make sure that you Search for Windows updates and install all updates, including all the optional ones! Restart your PC afterwards and then try again.

Ok, so I figured it out.  I realized that I starting using hdmi instead of vga.  When I first bought this tv, I was using vga.  I had installed big fish games.  Then I switched to hdmi but I hadn't played in a while, I thought maybe the installation was corrupt.  To test, I  connected my tv though vga and both games started with no problem.  I prefer hdmi, how can I get these games to run if I'm using hdmi?


Big city adventure gives me a direct x error. I really want to play cooking quest , this is cooking quest's error.

For Cooking Quest, try reinstalling it. There's no reference online for the error code being given. As for Big City Adventure, try installing DirectX 9.0c.
