Disk 2 error Empty Disk 2 error

Post by Guest Sun 31 Jan 2016, 05:10

Hello!

I am getting the "insert disk 2" error when I try to install the sims 4 via a USB.

I read the previous thread (https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t18415-the-sims-4-installation-asking-for-disk-part-2-solved) about this error where the mod suggested extracting the zip file via winRAR to the C: destination; however as I am operating via a windows partition on a mac, I only have limited room and there isn't enough disc space for both the files and the installed game. I know this is risky as the game runs better with more space, etc!

I have had the sims 4 installed on this partition several times before with no issue. I don't remember this ever coming up before, so I was wondering if you had any advice.

Thank you!

:-)

Hello and welcome to the forum @crazylandpirate !

Sorry to hear about the issue you are facing, but our knowledge regarding this error hasn't changed since then (if I had known about an alternative route to the problem back then, I would have mentioned it, in the thread you linked to).

That said, a possibility could be for you to install the game on another computer with Windows OS, and then transfer the installation folder and the relevant registry entries over to your Mac computer (see this topic for an introduction).

Or you free up enough filespace on your main C: drive. That is all I can suggest for the moment. Either way, good luck, and feel free to keep us posted here !  Smile
