Problem With Installing The Sims 3 Empty Problem With Installing The Sims 3

Post by Guest Tue 18 Oct 2011, 06:21

Ok where do I start, I've downloaded all of the Sims 3 game + expansions from games4theworld.org.
I followed the instructions for each download/install that was included in the .rar files for example - The Sims 3.rar
I installed them in this order from the instruction, including when it said I had to reinstall everything from the Late Night instructions

Installation Order:
The Sims 3
The Sims 3 - World Adventures
The Sims 3 - High End Loft Stuff
The Sims 3 - Ambitions
The Sims 3 - Fast Lane Stuff
The Sims 3 - Late Night
The Sims 3 - Outdoor Living Stuff
The Sims 3 - Generations
The Sims 3 - Town Life Stuff

I followed the instructions on installing/patching and everything was ok until Outdoor Living Stuff
The instruction in the notepad said that I needed to patch the game from the patch folder that was in the Outdoor Living Stuff that I downloaded from the website #Patch Folder with TS3_1.19.44.010001 Update
ok so I double-click the patch in the folder for the game to update
I get an error saying that The Sims 3 is a more recent version
so I ignore the patching and download Outdoor Living Stuff anyway
I start up the launcher, no update
So I'm thinking maybe the Fix can fix my problem when I'm done
I get the same error with Generations and Town Life but I install them anyway

So no I go to my Fix.rar and I follow the instructions so now i'm having a problem at step #12 "12. Now, open the The Sims 3 launcher and navigate to the "Update" -tab. Choose "Refresh". If a new update is shown, install it. Now you should have the latest version of the game."
I did not get an update but on the launcher The Sims 3 and all the expansions were lit up and my Town Life/game version was 9.0.73

Ok so I start the game and I keep getting an error saying failed to initialize service

Would Appreciate if anyone can help me

I just want to Note for the second expansion that I was suppose to download step 9 in the note pad "
9. Start the The Sims 3 launcher. You'll get a message that you're version of the Game is not
compatible. Click 'OK'. You're now on the Update window. Check the box inf front of the
'SIms3_2.5.12.004002_from_2.0.86.00.2002.exe' and click 'Update now'." My launcher did not update me 2.5.12.004002 from 2.0.86.00.2002.

Ok so I uninstalled The Sims 3 and all the expansion
I re installed The Sims 3 (base game) I did not apply the crack/update for the base game and I went to the Outdoor Living Stuff Patch folder to apply the patch TS3_1.19.44.010001_Update but it says that the game need to be in the same region as the update

Hello,

The region problem usually you got when installing WA, but you can solve by following this step: (Try first)

*When you're done installing the base game, open "Start", type "regedit" in the search box and
then press [ENTER].
*When you're in the Register Editor, navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Sims > The Sims 3 OR IT MAY BE IN:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > Sims > The Sims 3 (Windows 7, Vista)
*Here you'll see a file called "SKU". Double click on it and change the value - which
should be "2" or "7" - to "1" and press "OK". Now close the Register Editor.

Don't apply any cracks yet, use the ultimate fix for patching and cracking purposes.

If you fail with the above step, you try to update your game MANUALLY

Let us know, if this can solve your problem. Otherwise, wait for the other Moderator or Admin reply Smile

It works but then when I try to install Generations or Town Life its says that my Sims 3 is a more recent version therefore the problem is continuous

I just want to know in what order I should install The Sims 3 and the expansion without any problem

Would appreciate if the Admin would help

Hello,
You can find Admin's answer to this problem here.
But let me tell you that the fix wont work properly at this time. A new patch for The Sims 3 came out yesterday to prepare for the Pets expansion and G4TW doesn't plan to update the fix at this time, instead, it will be updated after Pets is released, stay tuned to the forum for more news about that.

So when installing, do we update when installing the expansion packs? Or do we wait to do it at the end??? I have tried this 3 times unsuccessfully.

Also, Do we follow the instructions in the expansion packs, except for the crack part, or do we just install and copy all the files from the ultimate fix, update then do the crack?

//EDIT

I get this error when trying to install...

Unable to start game

Service initialization failed (0x024e424f)

//EDIT

followed the intructions on the video to the T!

:newfag: Help

No result yet,

Do I update Generations and town life stuff when it says to while trying to install????

I changed reg to 1 but still cant install it without updating it..

So when it says there is a more current version of the sims and it needs to be updated to install this, i guess i just install it... I see no other way to install this game without updating it.....

So here is what I did and the results...

UNinstalled all sims EP and Base game... Restarted Computer... Deleted Electronic Arts folder from Program Files (x86)..... Restarted Computer

Installed in this order
Sims Base Game
Regedit changed sku to "1"
When trying to install Town Life Stuff, it prompted for update.. I updated and installed Town Life Stuff
Generations
Ambitions
Fast Lane Stuff
HELS
Late Night
Outdoor Living Stuff
Regedit changed sku to "2"
World Adventures

Now Updated the files.... as the video says!
Opened Sims 3 base game copied files, moved and replaced to The Sims 3/Game/Bin
World adventures, moved files and replaced from there to The Sims 3 World Adventures/Game/Bin
Moved and replaced High End Loft Stuff to High End Loft Stuff/Game/Bin
Moved and replaced Ambitions to Ambitions/Game/Bin
Moved and Replaced Fast Lane Stuff to Fast Lane Stuff/Game/Bin
Moved and replaced Late Night to Late Night/Game/Bin
Moved and replaced OLS to Outdoor Living Stuff/Game/Bin
Moved and replaced Generations to The Sims 3/Game/Bin
Moved and replaced Town Life Stuff to The Sims 3/Game/Bin

Opened The Sims 3 Launcher---Downloaded 318.7MB update--- Said it was the wrong region for the update
Regedit sku change to "1"--- Opened Sims 3 Launcher--- Stupid origin has to RE download 318.7 MB file
I get Update Error : Invalid file found...

Closed launcher--- closed from system tray --- closed origin
Manually installed update from suggested forum post 865MB
Moved and Replaced file from Crack Pets & Town Life Stuff & Generations to The Sims 3/Game/Bin

Starting the game says there is a New Store Content Patch Available.... Clicking Later

Holy Bejesus it works!!!! Guess doing it slow works!!!!

Can I download that Store Content Patch without messing anything up?

When I try to update the new patch, the one from Oct 18, it keeps saying invalid file found. I guess because of the torrented games or such, Any suggestions? I really want the sims 3 pets.
