Windows update refuses to work

This has been a problem since before i had the G4TW version of windows, every time i try to install updates it always hangs at 0%, i once left my PC on overnight and it was still at 0%. I've tried deleting cache's, resetting etc all to no avail. Before i couldn't even check for updates(plugging my internet cable directly into my laptop fixed it, but now because i dont have a ethernet driver, i cant do that

Hello,
Do you have any third-party programs with which you can download/install Windows updates ? I know for instance that your issue can happen with this thing called "Advanced System Care". I'm not sure if you can tweak the settings in the program for this purpose, but if not, you should try un-installing the program and re-booting the computer.
After which you try and search again for updates.

I used to have iobit software on my pc, but after i did some digging i didn't trust their software anymore, the only things i have installed on my pc are graphics card drivers,google chrome(not about that IE life xD) and my antivirus software which i just installed seconds after typing this.

What is your Windows system ? Can you look for an option that says "automatic installation" or something along those lines ? In Windows 10, under the computer settings and "Windows update" -> "Advanced options", there is this.
"Automatic (recommended)"... see if your computer installs those updates "automatically" then.

How did i forget to put my windows version XD (Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit). I'll try that.

It seems turning on automatic updates did the trick, im currently installing 223 of 227 updates lol.

Nice.
I recall myself having similar issues at times. Then, when I simply "let it go", a pop-up shows up later on, prompting me to install these updates, when before I was struggling to even download them.
And yes, if it's a fresh setup of Windows, the update process can take a while, since it will normally download/install all available updates released up to this point.
Feel free to keep us posted, but I guess your problem seems solved anyway now.
