I cannot get any of the Sims4 Expansion packs to run...

I purchased the Sims4 last year and decided to at least save money on the Expansion packs in case I didn't like them so I go through this like always to get my expansion packs. I followed all instructions and every time I go to play it it says the Sims4 is not updated and needs to be in order to play. I've tried everything, Closing Origin, signing out of Origin. Nothing is working.... Can someone help me?
