The Sims 2 autorun stops working, cannot install eps/sps after seasons. [SOLVED]
I have tried everything. I re-downloaded the torrent, I have extracted the files multiple times, I've uninstalled the games and cleared the registry multiple times, I've tried to install the games for like three times now but just cannot install anything after seasons ep.
I start installing Bon Voyage, everything goes fine until the installer reaches like the last few percents then it informs me that autorun has stopped working and it will terminate. There will be a Bon voyage folder in my installation folder and with a quick look it seems to have all the parts needed, yet it doesn't work. I cannot uninstall it through windows uninstaller because it just says it wasn't installed correctly, I have to manually delete the folder and clear the registry in order to delete it. Otherwise I can't delete the sims 2 base game because it says I have other eps installed. This happens with all the eps and sps after seasons. I can't install any of them.
I don't know what to do. Extracting the files makes no difference even though it seemed to fix the similar problem for someone else. I've checked and the files I've torrented should all be there.
Here's my rig if it makes any difference:
Windows 10 home
GeForce GTX 970
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4590 CPU @ 3.30GHz
8GB Ram

Hello,
If the torrent is still running in your torrent client under "seeding", try this: right-click on the torrent in the client and choose STOP. Now right-click again and choose "force re-check". This will now take a little while. When at 100%, it should switch again to seeding on its own. If not, it will show as "finished". Either way, re-extract again from the .RAR (please only use WinRAR for extraction and no other program), into a fresh folder.
There, try installing the EPs and SPs after Seasons again. Good luck for now and feel free to keep us posted !

Re: The Sims 2 autorun stops working, cannot install eps/sps after seasons. [SOLVED]
Hello! I tried what you suggested but unfortunately the installer was still crashing.
But I thought I'd continue with the installation anyway. Bon voyage and Freetime installers were the ones that were crashing. I still followed the instructions and patched both games (Since I thought, hey at least they had installed SOMETHING) and the patches seemed to go through normally. After freetime I managed to install everything else without the crashing problem. I started up the game, and it loaded without a problem but once in game I noticed bon voyage and freetime were not installed. So I deleted the folders the installer had managed to put there, cleared the registry. I tried all the tricks in the book for those two eps. I extracted them only into new folders. I ran the autorun exes in windows xp 2 compatibility mode. This time they both installed without the crashing. I don't know what part was the thing that worked. Maybe simply installing them after everything else, since the update part seemed to be the one that was causing them problems in the first place? I don't know but the most important thing is that they are now working! So yeah, weird, but at least it's done now. ^^ Thank you for your answer.
