Simple and straightforward question. Yes or no is fine, but feel free to explain why or why not. I just want to know because Im afraid to go online in fear of it doing something wrong to the game.

Yes as long as you don't open origin when you also have legal expansions of the Sims-3.

First of all, there are no meaningful online features in The Sims 3, apart from this "Simport"-thing, which is just about sending your sims to perform gigs of sorts. And in order to do even that, you need at least one legit expansion/stuffpack or even a base game, so that you can log in to an EA account.

That is not going to work on a pirated Sims 3 game, and no, you won't be doing anything wrong either, if you try nonetheless.
