I can't open "The sims 3 installer"

Hello,
I'm new here and did search if anyone had the same problem but i didn't find anything..

I followed the installation guide for the Sims 3 on mac and downloaded the torrent, "unzipped" it, and now i have to open "The sims 3.app" according to the guide but i only see "The Sims 3 Installer" so i believe that's what i have to click on, but when i do a window appear telling me that "The application “The Sims 3 Installer” can’t be opened.".
What should i do in order to complete the download of the game and be able to play ? Is there another file i have to click on or is this one the right one ?

I guess you have to create .dmg files in order to run the sims 3 installer.
