I have followed the step by step instructions for the sims 4 install including get to work , get together and the hotfix , but for some reason it keeps crashing to desktop whenever I'm in create-a-sim and want to select an aspiration . 

All i can think of is doing is a clean reinstall of everything , but am not sure how i should go about uninstalling everything ? 

I did also try changing the name of The Sims 4 folder as I had seen it suggested but then that has just ran me into a lot more issues as i forgot to change my anti virus exceptions etc . 

Would really appreciate any help

I really hope this is fixable from this stage so I can get simming !!

First, go to Add or Remove programs and uninstall The Sims 4.
Then, go to (your drive):\Program Files (x86)\The Sims 4 and manually delete folder if there's folder.
Lastly, go to Documents:\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 and again delete folder.
Restart PC.

When PC is restarted you MUST install The Sims 4 using this guide: https://games4theworld.forumotion.com/t21806-must-read-how-to-install-the-sims-4-correctly
You need to download all DLCs that are written in this guide.
Reply if you have any problems.

That aspiration-related problem sounds familiar. Are you really sure you applied the items in the correct order ? Which again is Base game -> Get to Work -> Get together -> Hotfix.
