errors after new update

Hi, my sims has been working perfectly for weeks until i got the new ultimate fix update yesterday. The first time i tried to open the game after using the ultimate fix the game got the loading screen then said a problem has caused the sims 4 to stop working correctly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. After this i did the ultimate fix again and i got a message saying windows smartscreen prevented an unrecognised application from starting. I turned off smartscreen and tried loading again and the game worked. Sims then said that mods have been turned off in case they mess with the new update but i turned them back on as they have always been fine previously. I loaded the game again and since then i keep getting the message at the loading screen that says about a problem has caused the sims 4 to stop working. Please help!

Rename your folder The Sims 4 in My Documentes - Electronic Arts to f.e. The Sims 4_old.
Now start your game again and see i the problem still persists. If not, then you can try and copy the items from folder the Sims 4_Old back to your new folder The Sims 4.

It worked until I copied the stuff from the old folder back to the new one.

Then just play with newly created The Sims 4 Documents folder. It may be due to outdated mods. Try going into Mods folder and check back on creators page if there is updated version of mod.

That is the disadvantage of using mods in general: you often have to make sure to check back with the creator(s) of the item(s), to see if updates are available, especially for mods that alter in-game-mechanisms (script mods).
