The sims 3 has stopped working

The game was working perfectly yesterday....

The game loads, then i choose my save, and (usually)when it reaches the end of the town-loading screen, it freezes, and I ned to alt tab and there is a win7 popup saying that ts3 has stopped working and I need to ebd the process.
Sometimes its in the middle of the loadng screen though, not at the end.

Is this a known issue or just me?

How can i fix it?

If that didn't, try removing ALL your Custom Content and Mods and then start the game.

Like I said, I have done all 3 steps, shhort of a reinstall.. I've already reinstalled so many times, another one won't accomplish much.
