Windows 7 Can't Connect (No Connections Available) Empty Windows 7 Can't Connect (No Connections Available)

Post by Guest Tue 11 Oct 2016, 10:17

Okay, so I recently went from Windows 8 to Windows 7 Ultimate, thanks to you awesome guys. But now that I've done everything step by step,my internet wont connect AT ALL. Even when I connect it to my modem using the Ethernet cord. Nothing is working, and I can't update ANY drivers until then. I even tried finding drivers on my husband's laptop and putting them on the USB and trying it on mine but none of those will take to my laptop brand I guess? (x16-69072 HP Notebook) Please help before I relentlessly tear this this apart or worse....Go back to Windows 8 affraid ! Lol

Thank You I'm new here.

It looks like your network devices are not configured correctly.

Rightclick on the icon of My Computer
Select Device Manager
Click on Network Adapters (maybe different in your language)
You'll see 2 adapters, 1 for ethernet, 1 for wifi
rightclick on these and select Delete
Re-boot your computer

Go to the website of your computer manufacturer and download the required drivers for your internet connection.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Shorty786,

In addition to what Tarac said before, do you happen to have some kind of CD or DVD with drivers, that came along when you purchased that laptop? Very often, you have discs that re-install Windows and also the necessary drivers too. But yes, if you google the exact model name/number of your computer, you should be able to come across drivers too. Smile  Good luck and do keep us posted!
