Service initialization failed (0x0175dcbb). Help!

I installed all of the expansions, and even applied the "Ultimate Fix" from this site.

I haven't been able to play the Sims 3 at all since I installed Pets on the 18th.
After I finished updating, I clicked on my "Sims 3" shortcut to launch the game, and the only thing that comes up is a window that says:
Unable to start game.
Service initialization failed (0x0175dcbb).
Anybody have a possible fix for this?

That's what I always do.

I originally had this exact problem, but after researching around here, I've found out the cause.

You have to put the crack files in the sims 3 BASE folder, NOT the Sims 3 Pets or Generations folder. So try putting the crack files in your "C > Program Files (x86) > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3 > game > bin" folder instead and see if it works for you then.

It wouldn't let me post the file location for some reason... so all / were replaced with > instead.

im also having the same problem, the only thing is i cannot find the bin folder on the sims 3 base game folder to transfer the crack folder into there for it to work, iv been trying to find it for hours and nothing has showed up, i would be really greatful if you can help me

i downloaded the sims 3 pets on the main website which said fixed, so im guessing that ones the latest one?

Hello,

Read the link I just sent you.
When you've downloaded the Fix and open it, you'll see a file called "# Installation Guide.pdf". Just follow the instructions inside it.
