Audio problem in some games. [SOLVED] Empty Audio problem in some games. [SOLVED]

Post by Guest Mon 05 Dec 2016, 18:13

Hi,

I were having those problems for a couple of months and that's audio problem in some games, but I only met Watch Dogs and Gta San Andreas.

Whatsoever I downloaded those games from the piratebay and as I checked them, there are NO viruses in  it.

I also used Gta san andreas; downloaded torrent on old windows, everything was fine, but now I downloaded the SAME torrent without it being updated, and I can't hear sound. I can hear sound at mission cut scenes but I can't hear on a mission how are people on mission talking, only radio and cars.
Same for Watch Dogs, but there it's problem that I can't hear the things people talking while in cutscenes, audio files when I hack from profiler, but I can only hear radio and cars. Except for one thing, I can hear other people talking while NOT doing missions, and I am close to them.

I moved your post to the correct section, because I don't think this is about "maintenance or virusses". Are you running on Windows 8 or 10? If so, try looking for this option:

Audio problem in some games. [SOLVED] Clipbo10

Go to Control Panel -> Programs -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows features on or off. In the next window, unfold the "Legacy components"-folder, and MARK the box "Direct Play". Click on OK after that.

Maybe you need to re-start the computer after that, but I can't remember anymore.

If you are using Windows 8 or 10, the problem could also be about some file permission errors, or maybe related to sound card drivers. Did you try looking for a newer version of your sound card drivers? Or, maybe for an older version (sometimes using an older version/rolling back to an older driver can help as well).

It the option I mentioned before was marked already, then it's good. Very Happy  Could you tell us though what exactly you did, or what happened that fixed the error?

Well I got to the control panel, head to Programs and Features and then I saw the DirectPlay box is checked, so I just clicked OK and everything was fine. No more crappy problems of audio in games.
I also noticed while playing Roblox that I can't hear audio very well so that fixed the problem too  IAmSoHappyEmergahwd

Sounds like "black magic", but glad to hear the problem seems gone now! Have fun - problem solved, topic closed. P.S. should you at some point be having again audio issues, do have a look at your sound drivers.
