Sims 4 Games Won't Save

Hi so I downloaded the Sims 4 base game and all three expansion packs and have made a family twice over only to find that at some point my saved family is gone.

When I go to The Sims 4 file location and go to the save folder I can see my last saved games there in text format but in game they are nowhere to be found.

Please help me restore at least my last family and fix this problem once and for all! The torrent is great and working smoothly except for the fact that the game only saves sometimes and when it doesn't, all my hard work is gone at once and I have to start over; only to have the problem happen again.

Hello,

Welcome to the forum.
If you have mods, please disable them for the moment. Outdated mods can interfere with a host of things.
Did you try a clean folder? Remove (to another location, do not delete it) or rename the The Sims 4 folder in Documents and test the game, see if you can save.

How do you disable mods?

I'll try renaming first though. It's just most of the times it saves and then the next time I open the game everything is gone again..

I'm not sure how to do that to be honest I is confused

I believe there is supposed to be a checkbox that disables mods, but I don't know. A clean folder will probably also be without mods though.

Okay so for some reason I don't have a Sims 4 folder in my documents. I think it might have been deleted but what I did do differently this time with my family is save them to library in the creation mode; hopefully that helps.

To be honest I haven't closed the game since I created this new family because I just don't want to lose them again IAmSoHappyEmergahwd

. In the mean time I'll play and if I have any future saving problems I'll just get back to this forum.

Are you running Windows 10, by any chance? And did you enable Onedrive by default? It's possible that your "The Sims 4" folder has been generated there in stead. That could potentially be the problem, maybe?

It's not there either.

I have my saved games in text form. Is there anything I can do with that?
