Am I stupid or something?

Okay, hello! First post I guess. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong, but I have followed the steps of the ultimate fix to the T and my game will not work at all!
I have the game downloaded via Origin, so i put the #crack files in the place it said to for that, but now that I've used the manual patch and the ultimate fix and installed the EP's I wanted, my game will not start at all. Even when opening not in origin. i.e TS3W.exe or whatever. I installed the complete store collection too, so maybe did that screw something up? I have no idea what to do  The launcher will not open, I have re-tried steps 3-4 of "How to properly install sims 3", game crashes on opening, and I followed every step exactly... Please help

I can't open the launcher to check, but it's most likely that I am because I have automatic updates on. Is there any way to fix it? Or should I just download the base game from here and restart?

But that will probably be the best solution in your case, yes.   I would also suggest, you think about actually uninstalling that Origin base game of TS3, to avoid potential future hassle.
