game crashes after installing CityLiving

Hi

After installing the last add on, City Living my game started crashing. The message I get is ”the program has encountered an error and stopped working correctly. Windows...”
I tried troubleshoot compatibility (I have win8.1 pro, 32byts sytem) and it advised to try win8 settings. I did that and the game still crashes.  
Any suggestions?

I don't have any mods but I unchecked the box in options/game play that enables mods and custom content. I'll try to see if it works.

it doesn't work. when my sim tries to go anywhere the game crashes for certain. The rest of the time it can happen anytime, rather sooner than later

I'm having the same problem

missing my game.

The first thing you should do in such cases:
Rename the folder The Sims 4 in C:\user\Documents\Electronic Arts to The Sims 4_old.
Then start your game.
A new folder The Sims 4 will be created and you have (temporarily) lost all your Sims and Houses.

When the game works now without any problems you can start copying files and folders from The Sims 4_old to the new folder.
