I THINK this is how I got The Sims 3 to work on my Mac

Hoping this is okay to post. I figure since there’s no official Mac support, I might as well do what I can to try and help.

I installed most of the complete collection on New Years (including the base game), and it’s been working great ever since. The problem is that, thanks to ADHD and a remarkable number of head injuries, I have some serious memory issues. So, I THINK this is what I did…but I could be wrong. Sorry. D:

Here’s what you’ll need (…I think):
• The torrent for the complete collection
• Stuffit Expander
• G4TW’s Mac Guide
• The manual patch
• The Ultimate Fix and the included Ultimate Fix Installation Guide

Here’s what you do (...I think):
Step 1: Download the torrent.

Step 2: Open the RAR file with Stuffit Expander. Ignore the #Installation Guide.txt file for “The Complete Collection” (the one that asks you to run an .exe).

Step 3: I think what I did here was mount the base game as a .dmg file to install it (see parts 2 and 3 of G4TW’s Mac Guide on how to do this). The serial codes are in #Installation Guide.txt (the one INSIDE the base game file).

Step 4: Apply the manual patch. You might be able to skip this and just do it at Step 7. idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Step 5: Install the expansion packs and stuff packs that you would like to use by following parts 2 and 3 of G4TW’s Mac Guide.

Step 6: Follow steps one through ten of the Ultimate Fix Installation Guide (skip any that don’t apply to you, obviously).

Step 7: Apply (re-apply?) the manual patch.

Step 8: Follow steps twelve through fourteen of the Ultimate Fix Installation Guide.

Step 9: Success? Maybe? I hope? You tell me!
