Hmm, bit of an issue Empty Hmm, bit of an issue

Post by Guest Sat 22 Apr 2017, 01:49

Hello, new here and wanting to ask a few questions regarding my Sims 4 game. Was working just fine earlier and I wanted to see if I could add in some DLCs, so I went ahead and downloaded the "Get to work" DLC, however once I dragged the files into where I have my game at (Program Files (x86) and all that) I recieved a message telling me this

"The Contents of your user data directory were created by a newer version of The Sims 4 and cannot be loaded. Please update your game via Origin to play

[d6f91ffb:29f00e76:00000000:00000000]"

I WAS looking through the MUST READ instructions and was really just only intending to download one mod. Is it because I didnt follow through all the way with the guide or is it another issue? I dont have origins active at all for my base game

Fixed it, had to delete a certain file (GameVersion.txt) though it looks like I'll have to redownload the updatefix (I'm getting llama errors)

Alright now another issue occurs. Reapplied the update fix (which works as if I dont have dlc as I found out) and wouldnt you know it, DLC is not showing. So I reapplied the dlc file again and back to square one. (Only after deleting GameVersion I am receiving the llama error)

Do I seriously HAVE to have all the other expansions installed or am I doing something wrong?

DO NOT USE the fix. That is for people wishing to play the base game only.
As soon as you apply the fix on a game with DLC's you will loose them all and you'll have to reinstall ALL DLC's again.
(After the fix you're back to the base game only)

In case you have to download them all again, you'd better use the all-in-one 1-click-installation.

Okay so before I go ahead with what that link suggest, should I:

1. Uninstall what I already have?

2. Copy my Sims 4 save files and mods so that I can reapply them?

1. Yes
2. Should not be necessary, but to be 100% sure, yes

Edit: This was my 1000st posting on this forum.
