Important question about the excitement

So currently i'm downloading the alternative, my question is WILL IT LAST? I mean this alternative, is it someday, maybe not too long from now while we're enjoying the game and suddenly poof it doesn't work anymore, EA somehow know about this (and i reckon they will be) and decided to put an end to the excitement.

I mean i'm not tech guy and certainly dont know how it all works, but can someone explain it for me? And even if it will happen in the future i can see it coming and be like "well that's it then, glad im enjoying myself while it last" .
