SUCCESSFUL SIMS 3 MAC INSTALLATION - HOW TO

If you're at all like me, then you found it extremely frustrating to piece together everything which needs to be done to successfully install the Sims 3 and all its expansion/stuff packs on a mac.

Well, I finally did it.  I have the Sims 3 and all the expansion/stuff packs running fine on my macbook pro, (mid 2015 model) on macOS Sierra v 10.12.5.

I will outline exactly what I did to make this happen:

A) DOWNLOAD THE RIGHT TORRENTS

• For the base game, DO NOT USE the versions offered by G4TW.  I've tried both the complete collection they offer and the single base game on their downloads page.  For some reason these just don't work for macs.
  
• I used 'The Sims 3 - Reloaded Mac & Windows' from Pirate Bay.  Just search 'Sims 3 reloaded' in Mac games.
  
• For each expansion and stuff pack, use G4TW's downloads page to get each individual one you want.  I got every single one.
  

B) CREATE THE ISO IMAGES

• I tried using disk utility, didn't work.  Use 'Keka', its free and works.
  
• extract each RAR using 'Keka'.  It will create a folder.
  
• Open 'Keka', click 'ISO' then create a volume name for the each expansion/stuff pack you want.  
  
• NOTE: I used the following format for naming the volumes: expansions = 'Sims3EP01', stuff packs = 'Sims3SP01'.  Name each expansion/stuff pack uniquely in order they were released.  Eg: World adventures = Sims3EP01, Ambitions = Sims3EP02, High End Loft Stuff = Sims3SP01, Fast Lane Stuff = Sims3SP02.  Not sure if this is important or not.
  
• Create the ISO images by dragging the folder (extracted from the RAR) onto Keka.
  
• You should now have an ISO for each expansion you want, and the ISO in the Sims 3 reloaded torrent.
  

C) INSTALL THE GAMES

• Open the ISO in the reloaded folder.  Install the base game by opening the installer.
  
• Next, BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE REST, apply the manual patch, found here.
  
• Install 'Master Suite Stuff' before any others.
  
• Apply crack found in the Mac ultimate fix here.  NOTE: I used the cracks in the 'all expansion packs...' folder for this step, NOT the '# crack' folder.
  
• Install all other expansions/stuff packs you want.  I did all of them.
  
• Apply the cracks for each expansion/stuff pack as per instructions in the Mac ultimate fix (link above)  NOTE: for step 11, I used the manual patch instead of letting the launcher update the game.
  
• Re-apply the manual patch once done all steps in the ultimate fix.
  
• I restarted my computer at this step, may or may not make a difference.
  
• Launch the game, say yes to store content update, then play the game!!
